I discovered that the fan on my power supply (on my computer, if you don't automatically make that assumption) wasn't running. Assuming that, since I am an infallible uber nerd, my power suplly is obviously broken, i opened up the case to discern the problem. Turns out that when I installed the thing, I totally neglected to notice that there was a little fan wire that needed to be hooked in along with everything. So I plug it in, and when I turn on the comp to verify it works, I notice my CPU fan IS JUST SITTING THERE! It's doing less than that one guy I live with! That damn fan should be running 24/7, so I juggle the cables around until every fan in my case is going. So now they're probably in the wrong slots, but at my comp is well ventilated at last.
Grr, on further reflection, this is a "my boring day" blog entry. I HATE THOSE, and people who write them! I've barely gotten up and I've already done 2 incredibly stupid things, I bet i step in front of a bus this afternoon.
